Slice Of Life

Slice Of Life, is a Weblog (BLOG) that I write, in which I try to tell some sort of story about something, or someone in my life. Sometimes it's happy, sometimes not, sometimes informative, sometimes...... HA, gotcha, did ya think that I was going to say not? Don't know me very well, do ya? :=) I will try to update the BLOG from time to time, whenever I can.

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States

My personality is outgoing, I use to be a wallflower, until I realized that it was all the outgoing people that were having the most fun. It was a tough conversion, but nobody I know today would even remotely consider me to be a wallflower. Basically, when I was young, my parents taught me that if you work hard, you can accomplish anything. I haven't quite found the "anything" part to be always true, but it has inspired me to always try to do, and be, my best.

Thoughts On AnEast Coast Business Trip

Thoughts On An East Coast Trek

  • That snow stuff falling from the sky? I saw it, at the airport layover in Cleveland.......... CoooooooL
  • Did you know the Airport TSA can open your checked bag, search it, drop a "sorry" note in it, put a tie wrap on it, and send it on it's way? I didn't, I do now....
  • Strange feeling to notice a layer of ice on the leading edge of the plane's wing while sitting at the Cleveland gate. Goodie Drawer award to the guy who de-iced us.
  • New England streets go up, down, in, out, diagonal, and all around, changing street names at whim. Driving's not a task, it's an adventure.
  • Have you ever noticed, the first time you meet someone, often, they don't look like you imagined they did over the telephone? Me too.
  • I Loved hearing that Eastern Accent again. Nobody says Sure, they say Show-aa. Don't laugh, after a week, I was saying it too.
  • I got to wear my Winter Heavy Leather Bomber Jacket. Bought it 3 years ago, third occasion I've worn it.
  • The Radisson was ok, but the Courtyard in Woburn was 15-20min North of Downtown, 1.5 years old, and cheaper. A nice place to stay for vacation in Boston
  • Those stories about Boston Traffic downtown? Much Much better since they opened the tunnel. So I hear. Looked ok every time to me.
  • The John F Kennedy Library and Museum near the UMass college campus was awesome. If you get to Boston, it's not to be missed......
  • It was nice to see the family. My Cousin and her Husband live just North of Boston, and my Sis and Aunt Drove in from NY State.
  • The family is also just as fun as I remember. I think we may be banned from one club downtown, for Loud and/or Obnoxious behavior......... YES!
  • Dorothy (and toto too) had it right. No matter how nice a vacation place may be..... There's no place like home.

A Thing Called..... SNOW

Whew! You East Coast guys gave me a scare this week. I heard that there is FREEZING weather back there in Boston. Get this..... They have this white stuff that falls from the sky in the winter time..... They call it..... Ready.....? Snow. Yeah, sort of like that stuff that shoots out of the snow cannons on the Sunrise/Snowbowl ski slopes up there in Flagstaff, only I hear it's a better quality than the snow gun stuff, and get this...... It falls Naturally from the sky!!!!!! Yup..... Yup, I kid you not. I saw it in one of my ski magazines, but being a good little Arizona "Zonie", I always though it was a myth. Turns out, they have this snow stuff falling from the sky all over the U.S., and get this, I saw a Chicago weather person saying "The temps are down around 20deg, so it's GETTING cold..... Getting......? At 20deg? They must not know the Arizona rule that anything < 70deg....... IS COLD ALREADY! What's up with that??? Yeah, Yeah, I know, you VF types are LYAO, but I'm guessing if you came here in oh say..... July, you'd be saying 95deg is HOT (Ha!), when all us Zonnies know that HOT doesn't start until AT LEAST 110deg. We call 95deg in July, a "Cold Spell". Anyway East Coast, Get ready, cause Tom's coming...... BEWARE!!!!

P.S. - Welcome..... New Slice Of Life Fan! You know who you are! :-)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Did you miss me during my 2 week "SOL Sabbatical"? Yes you did.... Based on how many people mentioned it to me. Good to be back. It's a new year, and guess what? A new look for me. If you've seen me since the holidays, you already know, but it's a funny story how it came about. During the last part of the Holidays, I sort of got lazy, and stopped shaving, Now, I'm not the hairiest guy around, but if I stop, I am capable of growing the Moustache/Goatee look. Not that I was trying to or anything, but at Lunch with an X-Girlfriend, she happened to mention... "Growing a Goat, eh? Looks good". "REALLY" Says I, and blew it off as "Ex BS"

Then a second girl I dated off and on made similar comments. Y the time the Girl I've taken out a few times recently, made positive comments, it made me go hummmmmm. So I decided on an experiment. I planned to shape it up, and go back to work with it, to see the reaction. Does the word "Bombshell" have any meaning? My 2 female friends from Integration said they liked it, My friend from yield said she liked it, 3 Admins all voiced positive comments, one even saying "very sexy tom", so I think 'm hooked. One asked "What do the Guys Think" Ummmmm......... Who Cares.........? Dhuuuuuuu, if a guy wants to know how he looks, he doesn't ask other guys, because I don't care what guys think. So, anyway, I'm still soliciting feedback, so if ya see me in the halls, please try and remember what your Mom and/or Dad use to say.......

If you can't say something nice, DON'T say anything :-)
